What is it we wish for the most in the winters? Definitely some sort of warmth. What can be better than healthy soups in winter? We are here with our easiest and most favourite winter soup recipes for you. Even if you don’t know how to cook, soup is something that you can try out easily.

Even if you do not have enough ingredients to make something sumptuous, you can try having soup to satiate your hunger. So, let’s jump into some healthy soups in winter.

1. Rich Tomato Soup with Croutons

The only soup that never goes unappreciated! A rich, thick tomato soup can really make your winter days or the chilly nights. But wait, is it hard to make? Not at all!

  • Take 4-5 medium tomatoes depending upon the people for whom you are making the soup for. Blend them well in a mixer. If you want you may add some sugar to it.
  • Heat a wholesome amount of butter depending upon how you want the calorie meter to be. Your choice 🙂
  • Then add onion, thyme and garlic to it. Sauté them well till the onion gets translucent in nature. Then add the tomato mixture to this.
  • Increase the flame, add double the amount of water to the tomato juice. Add pepper and salt as it pleases you and your taste buds.
  • Add croutons to it with cream while you serve it. Croutons can be made by shallow frying bread pieces in butter.

2. Mushroom Soup

Don’t like mushrooms much? Then why don’t you give it a twist with this soup recipe? Simple and tasty, this can light up your taste buds. This is really a good soup to try in this winter season.

  • Wash and dice mushrooms into small pieces. If you like onions, then dice them too.
  • Heat butter in a pan. Then add to it 2tbsp of flour. You can add either add wheat flour or plain Maida in it. Sauté it for about 5 minutes. Once it changes color, add chicken broth/ vegetable stalk into it. Let it thicken.
  • Add salt, pepper and seasoning like thyme to it. If you like garlic then add some it too.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms to it. Let it boil. Add parsley or freshly crushed pepper as seasoning.
  • If you love cream, do garnish it with a light cream strokes.

3. Potato Soup

Tired of having potatoes in the usual way? Then we would like to put forth this beautiful and healthy recipe of potato soup.

  • Take a thick vessel and put potatoes, carrots to it so that it gets to boil. Add necessary amount of salt.
  • Once it boils, ensure that the potatoes are well salted and perfectly cooked.
  • Add butter in a pan. You can add freshly cut spring onions to it. Then add the boiled potatoes and carrots to it.
  • Add a few cup of water to this. Add pepper and thyme if you want. Add to this a corn slurry to make the soup thick. Enjoy it with cream.

4. Pumpkin Soup

Hate pumpkins? Well, we can suggest you this recipe to make that hate story and love story. Try this pumpkin soup and see if we are wrong to give this a great rating among the soups.

  • Firstly, heat some butter over medium-high heat in a pan. Then sauté onion and ginger until it becomes tender.
  • Add stock, pumpkin and seasonings like thyme, rosemary etc. and whisk until blended.
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer it. Keep it covered, until flavors are blended, about 15 minutes.
